the first day in July and the Boston newspapers are
talking about and showing stats on the wild card
teams....sheesh.

Ya see, you guys are lucky.
Doing a little bit bad right now against the Yankees might
put the right amount of pressure in the upstairs office to
make some good trades to shore up the bull pen and maybe
even land RJ as your third starter.

King George is all happy licking his chops and not feeling
the need to make any huge moves. He knows he needs a
reliable left handed pitcher but maybe not as dire as
before this week.

So you see a sweep here might not be a bad thing after all
for you guys.

...just as long as some moves are made soon as to avoid
dropping too far back.

Getting back to last night's game... Did you catch that
long at-bat by Sheffield? No matter where the pitch was
headed he was gonna swing at it. This went on, pitch after
pitch. A few times the catcher didn't even crouch down.
He was standing up with a high target and Sheffield was
still determined to swing at it. 10 pitches and he swung
at every single one of them no matter how far out of the
strike zone they were.

He just kept fouling them off until finally the pitcher
slipped up and we belted it for a run scoring double.

He is a heck of a hitter when he gets fired up and in that
zone. A RBI machine.

It was a good game. Glad I didn't miss that one.

It should be good to see Pedro again. It always adds that
extra bit of frenzy to the excitement.

The stadium will be rocking in anticipation of the first
pitch.

So will my living room. As will yours, I'm sure.
