zeus, It is nice to know that my bathroom is no longer a filthy mess, it is officially christened as "feedstock" now. <G>

I know folks who run cars, generally small cars, on biodiesel. Admittedly, they are hippies from the 60s, but the cars run fine.

There are many, many alternatives to oil. The problem is always price. Which is why Opec really does have some incentive not to allow oil prices to get too high. Oil is easy and we have deep-pocketed vested interests who want to keep it the easy choice. As long as we have manna from heaven, we aren't going to grow corn.

My guess is that alternatives are not viable until we get to $8 a gallon at today's prices and/or 500 dead soldiers a month.
