Geez. Can't you read?? It doesn't say they gained freedom under Saddam. It says they gained freedom from Saddam. INO, even though they are now free of Saddam's tyranny, they still can't exercise their sovereignty.

Women in Iraq were much better off in Iraq than women in some other ME countries (as just one exmaple). Also, Saddam was not occupying the country (even though I KNOW you think we "liberated" it). Now Iraqis are occupied by a foreign power (and this hand off is meaningless, with troops still there). Iraqis are not freer. They might be freer at some future time- but they might not be- especially if we get an Islamic Theocracy over there- which we very well could.
