Americans are way too ignorant of what goes on in the world and the rightwing makes it worse by insisting the media only deliver good news from abroad. No news about battles, atrocities, death, carnage, torture, kidnappings, just nice Americans helping Iraqi children to school.

Actually the truth is always somewhere inbetween the extremes, but what is clear now is that most of the world highly resents the current US regime and do consider them ignorant cowboys, oil hogs and profiteers. It is not un-patriotic to admit they're right. But John Kerry can fix all that the same way John F. Kennedy did.

Americans don't even know much about what happens INSIDE their country- as poll after poll continues to show, regarding 9/11, and the mistaken facts the American people believe. And I always get a hoot when people are questioned about the constitution and the bill of rights- US citizens have no idea what those documents say, at all.
