Actually there is more at work with Canadian drug prices than you may think. They buy their meds by the province instead of by company which helps. Aside from that the price controls help as does the exchange rate. I've created an entire business around the Canadian Drug plan but its been harder than I expected to get seniors signed up. The average savings is about 47% and I'd like to see all the seniors who don't have co-pay use this system. If they'd do that it would set the stage for when you and I are older. I think if we can get enough of them buying their meds from Canada the drug companies will be forced to lower prices here. But I don't blame Bush for the discount card plan. Both sides wanted to push that garbage through so it looked like they did something. There is NO EXCUSE for us to pay the most for medicines of any country on earth.
