According to the NYT, ..."Nader is on the ballot in six states — Florida, Michigan, Mississippi, Colorado, Kansas and Montana — because of his affiliation with the Reform Party." I don't know how many he'll manage to get on, but given the awareness of what happened in 2000, I'd expect more people who might have voted for him to vote for Bush or Kerry, even if they had to hold their noses while doing so.

Your post demonstrates the problem with the assumption that Nader voters would go to Kerry. A lot of them might have ordinarily voted for Bush, but sought a protest venue; or would not have voted at all, since, if they are on the left fringe, even Kerry is too mainstream for them; or would have voted for some other Third Party candidate, or written someone in. My mother once wrote in one of my brothers as a joke because she did not care for the actual choices.
