Cohen is far more sensible than you on this issue John. He is right to fear the slide of the Democratic Party into the grip of the looney left conspiracy nuts.

This is worse than the Clinton hatred because the conspiracy nuts stayed on the fringes then. For the mainstream Clinton-haters, it was personal - they just couldn't stand Bill Clinton, slick Willie, and they let their emotions override their political judgement. They never persuaded themselves the Clinton was some Manchurian candidate out to destroy the Constitution and impose Socialism.

But major voices in the Democratic Party are siding with the Manchurian candidate image of Bush. Moore offers nothing but propaganda nonsense and he's just made Kerry's case that much harder to make.
