Did they get into Iraq and talk about staying there for years on end then? Nope.

You could say the same thing about Germany too. How long after the war was over did the US have troops on the ground in Germany? How about Kosovo, or Serbia?

PS: This is not some sort of back-door draft, Dipy. When you enlist for 4 years, you know PRIOR to signing up that after your 4 years you are put in an Inactive Reserve pool for 4 more years.
