I don't think we disagree. The repetative design tasks, such as improving a product, get out sourced while the task of deciding what needs to be designed next is still done in the US. That is good. Those who don't allow for some design work to go offshore will have all the "enhancements" done by the "me too" companies. This stuff is a great cash cow... so if you can get foreign, low cost designers to do incremental changes and improvements, the payback is huge while it can help you keep a competitive advantage... AND it frees up your US design staff to invent the next product.
