Z, Who is? I just went out with 11 other people my age, and they're all talking about "anybody but Bush."

Lots of mainstream liberals are concerned that they've allied themselves with those who truly do hate America. That includes Chris Matthews, who wondered out loud after Spain's 3/11 that a terrorist attack on our soil would be seen as a pro-Kerry statement.

>> Who is? I just went out with 11 other people my age,

Do you think maybe that could explain a little of it?

It is no criticism. I was liberal when I was in my 20s, too. But I think it is a fairly normal process for liberals to morph as they become older, realizing that youthful idealism simply doesn't solve problems. Some don't; some people are just going to spend their lives as liberals, which is fine.

Practically everyone I know who liberal in their youth now supports Bush. The exceptions are the yellow-dog democrats, who have never been on the fence so far as I can recall. But EVERYONE my daughter's age (probably about your age, too) hates Bush. Why? They simply don't understand the ways of the world.

There is nothing new, or even negative about it. I think it is fine for younger generations to be idealistic and to want to believe the world is a "nice" place with no bad people in it. Over time, reality sets in.

So Z, what do you think about this post?

Do you think the Moore movie was a truthful depiction of events? A "documentary"?
