We had no idea, for example, that Chirac would continue to be such a pain in the ass, or that it would take so long to capture Saddam. Second, although we are not out of the woods, I am not very doubtful that we can at least stabilize an acceptable regime, even if not ideal. I think that the jihadists and Ba'athists have shown they do not have much support throughout the country, and that will seal their fates.......
