Ann, you must have been in the cradle when Kerry was serving in Vietnam. You are very sexist in that you have consistently dwellt on heiresses etc. I hope you are not a Mother Teressa and that your spouse in not someone who is a pauper. I am sure that you got married to someone who could fend for himself and also provide for others.

Kerry saved thousands of troops lives by helping to end the war. He was a hero during the war and after.

What most grunts in Nam wanted was to just come home, not keep fighting a doomed savage war with no objective. Kerry correctly represented the troops when he got home, though he knows some of his language was shocking. The shock affect worked. It exposed the dark side of the war that wasn't being shown on TV.

The fact is that everything Kerry said when he got home was accurate and he stands by it. That includes accounts and descriptions of atrocities which had become a regular part of the Vietnam nightmare by the late 60's and early 70's. Kerry could also have mentioned the use of Agent Orange and napalm. Just horrible stuff we did over there.
And who was to blame? Not the troops, but as Kerry stressed, the policy makers.

Anyone who pretends Nam hadn't turned into a gruesome madhouse by 1971 is just plain ignorant. Or else like you, they're trying to lie to us for partisan reasons and slander not only war hero Kerry, but others who have stood up and told the truth to stop the madness. It's time you and other rightwingers quit believing the fairy tales and apologized for supporting that wrong-headed war. It started with a big lie and drove our nation into an immoral ditch. In a smaller way, Iraq has done the same. Lesson beign, never start a war based on a lie, or one not based on self-defence. Otherwise, you are the immoral one and cannot win. The Soviets also learned this in Afghanistan.
