So, what you are doing, Nadine, is the usual straw man operation. I'm shocked, shocked! Just for entertainment purposes, maybe you could learn a new cheesy high school debate trick sometime.

I wrote nothing the least little bit like what you attributed to me. Although after all this time, I admit I'm reluctant to accept your paraphrase of a reporter on Charlie Rose as "the feelings of the Iraqis", "pathologically dishonest" thought that may be in true believer terminology. Too many levels of indirection there.

A different account, from somebody who actually got out of Baghdad and the green zone, on how really, really well things are going in Iraq:

So, what you are saying, Win, is that the feelings of the Iraqis don't count and shouldn't even be noted? Is that it?

The "feelings of the Iraqis" will only be known in the ripeness of time. The only way the people opposing Alawi will be dealt with is if a reasonably large majority of Iraqis support him, and act on that support. Other than that, it's only talk and speculation.
