Ted, Its no different with basketball stars, actors, CEOs etc.

I don't remember fans having to apply for "scholarships" or Perkins Loans to attend Laker games. Or watch Spider-Man. Or buy PCs.

It's hypocrisy to complain about lack of governance in corporate BoD, but defend lack of governance in university BoD.


If you think its hypocrisy, then you don't understand how the capitalist system works. Price is determined by supply and demand with the basic premise that there is scarcity in the world. When demand is greater than supply, the price for a commodity or person goes up.

Chancellors of universities are in short supply and demand is strong; hence prices are high.......thats true for athletes, actors, CEOs etc. Its basic economics.
