Peter,

Thanks. I scanned many and read a handful of the posters and abstracts. The scope and depth of analytical approaches to AD research are truly breathtaking, confounding and humbling.

I would hardly have noticed:
<<News Embargo:
All information contained here is
embargoed for release until the
date and time of presentation at the
Conference, unless written notice of
change of date/time is provided in
advance by the Alzheimer's Association....>>

had the embargo issue not been pointed out. It appears in small print in an obscure part of the screen.

arguably because anyone can access the material it should be regarded as public

That is one argument, Peter, but I would rather err on the side of caution on the issue of trading on "embargoed" information. The prohibition on press coverage could very well be interpreted by a court as preventing the broad dissemination and public access that would be required under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to achieve adequate disclosure. Non-public information is information that has not been disclosed to the general public by means of a press release, SEC filing or other medium that ensures broad dissemination and public access. One might certainly argue that internet publication that circumvents or prevents the press from coverage might achieve "broad dissemination and public access", but I am not sure I'd want to be the test case.

just my humble non-legal opinion,
Sam
