But you still cannot repeat a traditional anti-Semitic trope, almost word for word, then claim innocence because you are just trying to "discuss things".

Would a reasonable response not be "what you just said is a 'traditional anti-semitic trope;' is that what you meant?" or "oh, my, surely you didn't..." and await the reaction before judging?

I always presume innocence. Not only is it natural to me, it has turned out to be useful.
