That's wonderful about your folks. Congratulations. I'm all for great relationships. It's the institution of marriage that I question. I imagine that your folks would be celebrating fifty years together marriage certificate or not. Others use it to get a greeen card or a meal ticket.

Congrats to your parents bbm. I will celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary on Aug 4th. My brother celebrated his 25th last year. His in-laws had their 50th two years ago. My neighbor's parents just celebrated their 50th last month. They've been married 22 years themselves. My parents were married for 44 years until my dad's passing. Yada, yada, yada, I could go on for quite a while here. We all don't consider marriage broken or meaningless at all.
