<Pretty simple, don't you think? No big conspiracy>

Most individual Americans are not aware that their birthright of individual liberty is being stolen from them in broad daylight. The US media is simply not reporting it at all.

Somebody is trying. That is the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), a US organization with which I have many philosophical, political and economic differences. The fact remains, however, that they ARE trying. The ACLU has challenged the FBI's unchecked authority to issue "National Security Letters" which demand customer records without judicial oversight. Thanks to Section 505 of the Patriot Act, the FBI can now use these "letters" to obtain information about anyone at all. The ACLU's legal papers argue that this statute violates the First and Fourth Amendments.

The ACLU filed the lawsuit under seal to avoid penalties for violating the broad gag provision of the "National Security Letter" statute. "Under seal" legally means that both the argument presented and the supporting legal facts can NEVER become known unless, the "seal" is broken. That is TYRANNY.
