Ted, Apparently, that's what you want to believe because its not the reality.

I'll refer back to the David Brooks editorial entitled "The Presidency Wars":

#reply-19354806

It's no surprise that conservatives call it a good article, while liberals think Brooks is wrong, because right now Bush is the target of the "Presidency Wars." If Kerry gets elected and starts drawing the criticism of Republicans, watch as the positions reverse.

Conservatives can come up with all kinds of reasons why the current situation is simply a mirror image of the Clinton years. However, its just more excuses to cover the weakness and failings of the current presidency. And the sad part, Republicans know this president has failed, and failed miserably, and yet, they are unwilling to admit it and do the honorable thing which is to put him out of office.

And read my lips carefully........its the GOP that set this tone.....back in 2000. They wanted the presidency so badly that they made it clear they would step over anyone to get it. I don't know what was the cause for their vehemence.........perhaps Clinton's successes had infuriated them or maybe a critical mass had been reached. But they were prepared to take people out to get the prize which was the presidency.

In any case, they set the tone and with the help of Bush, have polarized this nation like its never been polarized before. So all this bla bla stuff coming from the right is just that........a lot of smoke and mirrors to wish away any guilt they have for supporting Bush.

And let me clue you in, once Bush is gone in November, and I pray that that happens, the real dirt will start to come out about this presidency. And I suspect it will not be pretty.

Kerry 2.9 improved...

msnbc.msn.com

“I know that Republicans are going to try very hard to say, ‘Oh, John Kerry voted for that dairy compact when he represented Massachusetts,”’ Kerry said. “I plead guilty. I did vote for it, because I represented Massachusetts as a United States senator.”

Noting that he will be representing the entire country as president, Kerry said he wouldn’t support such a regional system if elected.
