Convienently you took the quote out of context. Here is the quote:
"Fahrenheit 9/11 is not a documentary for the ages, it is an act of counterpropaganda that has a boorish, bullying force. It is, all in all, a legitimate abuse of power."
Which is why I posted it in the first place.

"He also appears to be very popular in foreign countries, particularly those with a grudge against the United States."
Wrong again. Some may have a grudge against Bush II and co. but not the United States. A majority of Europeans are against Bush II's war in Iraq, the torture reports, Guantanamo camp, the prevarications(WMD's, Saddam's connection to 9/11, etc.), and the arrogant rejection of a number of international treaties and conventions.

The recent Supreme Court decisions in the US and Israel about prisoners rights and the wall indicate that even conservative courts reject extremism as practiced by Bush II and Sharon.

Moore's idea that the US is plagued by fear and that fear is the root cause of the high gun death rates in the US is the important point behind Bowling for Columbine. In addition Moore, indirectly, points to the irrelevance of the NRA in the gun death debate. He might not have noticed that himself(he didn't promote the idea).
