By taxing the oil here we will reduce consumption and at least send less money to the terrorist supporters. In reality the terror nations have 2/3 of all oil, so the money will always flow there whether it comes from us or not.

So the objective we strive for in Iraq should not be done cheaply. Sending reserves and guard members to Iraq under trained and under equipped is a disgrace.

We dont have leaders yet, or the national will power to face up to the challenge. We need a much larger military with less dependency on part timers and we need to prepare ourselves for much higher oil prices.

Will Bush be able to do some things in his second term that a first termer cannot, and get reelected?

Only in hindsight will we realize Hubberts peak is behind us. I dont think that day is far off.
