I don't believe paying more in taxes is better. I believe in paying my way, I don't live on credit. I don't expect my government to live on credit either. The wonder of the Clinton years was that Clinton and Rubin showed that a government living within it's means would inspire investment and true growth. Principles quickly abandoned by the "borrow and spend" Bush administration, something noted by more than a few fiscally responsible Republicans. Kerry intends to continue the success of the Clinton-Rubin economic polices, after paying off the Bush fiscal mess, just as Clinton had to pay off the Reagan fiscal mess that cost Poppy his job.
