The NYT did not even cover the voter roll scrubbing until recently. I believe the article you are refering to was about vote recounting. That's a whole separate issue. So quit trying to confuse the two just to covering up the Bush voter roll scrubbing. The voter roll scrubbing deprived Gore of about 5000 legal votes, more than enough to make the recount irrelevant. 57,700 voters in all were taken off the rolls. The way they did is was just plain deliberate cheating.
