the "internet boom" or technology boom or whatever you want to call it was a manufacturing boom, resulting in high value add goods (and in some cases, services) getting produced and sold.

Since Bush came in office, for a number of reasons we have lost that momentum, now we are back to almost an early 80s sort of sluggishness. People know this isn't a real recovery for sure.
