I have quite a bit of property near Lake Shasta, which has everything from Bald Eagles, to mountain lions, deer, wild turkey, it goes on an on. Our house is on a half an acre, about 15 miles from the property. I've seen deer while taking walks within a half mile of my house, but none the property. The wild life is abundent though. Beaver, river otters, coyotees, and tons of birds. I really like watching the wildlife. Especially the hunting and nest protecting of the birds. I'm sure you's seen the little birds swarm big ones around nesting season and trying to run them away from the nests. This year is the 1st time I have seen a red tail hawk do it to a turkey vulture. He (she?) would get about 50' to 100' above the vulture and dive at him. At which time the vulture actually would make some pretty impressive moves to make him miss (or at least deflect the blow. Cool to watch.

What state are you in? I am in Northern CA. The only blue part of our silly state.
