President Lincoln was the most hated President in U.S. History between 1860 and 1864. Every southern state hated him and that was half the country. Almost half the Northerners hated him too for getting us in a war with the Confederate States..who were no threat to the Federals and for the massive,, absolutely daunting war casualties, the draft and the suspension of the writ of habeous corpus under "war powers". Viginia had nothing to do with Ft. Sumter yet Lincoln attacked Virginia.
