Tejek, check this scary stuff out: "The Republican Party of Texas affirms that the United States of America is a Christian nation, and the public acknowledgment of God is undeniable in our history," reads the plank in the party's 2004 platform, which was recently adopted.

Doesn't surprise me in the least.......GW Bush did not come out of thin air. He was created in TX.

Excellent posts.......all so true.

For too long, I think the north and the west coast thought of TX as this peculiar, over the top anomaly who's eccentricities made interesting dinner conversation. However, neighboring states knew better. They saw TXans as brash, aggressive and unrepentant.

Now in the 21st century, its the second or third largest state in the union with traditions that don't meld well with the rest of the nation. And its sent us a president who does not promote the same American values with which I grew up.

So none of what you posted comes as a surprise.......and maybe we can understand better why Bush thinks God speaks to him.

Scary is supporting the slaughter of 1.5 million unborn children a year and wanting to be President.

And then when that looks bad in the polls, tell everyone you are actually against abortion but vote for it.
