Checked that again-----the talk dates back to an article in April of 2004.

So sounds like that persons opinion or wishful thinking.

With SGI's reliance on Intel's Itanium processor, and SUNW's refusal to support it, I think this is very unlikely.

Did not see the article, but looks like Sun has since teamed up with Fujitsu...

IMHO SGI/Big Blue would make a nice fit thou....:)
