I own between 40 and 50. Most are collectibles and have never been fired. I have a clean police record nothing worse than a traffic or parking ticket. There is no reason why properly trained, clean criminal histories and ex-military or ex-police officer's should not be able to privately own handguns, assault weapons and fully automatic weapons. There is no danger with these people. We allow military pilots to fly over ranges in the US with 2000 lb bombs. Any one of them could go nutso and bomb a major city. It has never happened of course. The same rules should apply to gun owners. Don't treat citizens with upstanding records like Barney Fife. Quite frankly its insulting. 76 million gun owners find in insulting.
