"If they hate our way of life" If you are talking about terrorists, I think they do. "I think it's because our way is to stick our big nose right in the middle of their way of life." This is a typical self loathing lefty type of argument. I find it offensive, and don't think we are such a bad place. In actuality we give them BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars in revenue. Seems like they should be pissed at their own leaders. Not worried that we do business with their leaders. "because we want their oil." Last time I checked, they wanted to sell it to us. "We'd rather they be Christians than Muslims" Speak for yourself. You definately don't speak for me, nor imo do you speak for most Americans when you make this claim. I would rather they did not kill us. And I would rather they not blame us for their societal problems like religious fundementalism (relatively rare here), lack of rights for woman, lack of education (despite hords of money), lack of individual freedom and basic human rights. All those seem like more likely reasons than us buying their oil. I think anger should be directed at the real issues. Not some percieved prejudices about the evil nature of us Americans.
