I completely understand your fears. You just need to make a distinction between harmless law abiding citizens, psychopaths and violent criminals. For the most part its not too hard to figure out who should not own guns. There are better ways to enact gun control besides blanket bans. I would recommend that all anti-gunners overcome their fears and learn all they can about the guns they want to control by taking a safety class, going to the range and try shooting a pistol, a rifle and a shotgun.
