She was married, then "came out" during the marriage. The record doesn't reflect whether she knew she was gay before the marriage.

There are many "experts" who tell homosexual men and women that their orientation is all in their head and can be overcome by will power, so go ahead and marry someone of the opposite sex, it will all work out if they simply try hard. I pity their spouses.

How does a stable and committed homosexual women get kids to begin with?

My sister had two kids when she left her husband for her lover. They stayed together ten years. The son turned out well, the daughter had a hard time. I don't blame that on the arrangement. She was a founding member of NOW. And is a very bitter old woman.
