Like George Bernard Shaw's famous quote about Puritanism, to the effect that it's a deep-seated fear that someone, somewhere is having a good time. My return to the US this summer reminded me how utterly stupid and ridiculous the attitudes are here toward "vice" issues, among many other things. Never seen so many people getting so freaked out about stuff that doesn't need to worry them.
