Amy, so you and Ted are justifying the higher college tuition in terms of "pay of university higher-ups," even though that very result is being used in a "misery index" to attack Bush.

What's Kerry going to do? Rely on you to drop the criticism if he gets elected?

If that were the only complaint I had against Bush, I would be voting for him.

Tenchusatsu, RE: "so you and Ted are justifying the higher college tuition"

Nothing justifies an increase in college tuition. It's classist and just cuts the supply off, which puts pressure on companies to do offshoring as noted during the boom years.

I do concur with your larger point - I don't think anything justifies a $1M salary (that's non-performance based) for a chancellor, but I'd be fully for a $1M performance compensation package that was based upon performance (1/3 salary, 1/3 bonus if s/he increases % of engineers in their school, 1/3 bonus if s/he increase % of engineers in all schools.)

Amy J
