Because he is honest about his beliefs, and knowledgeable about his religion. "Honestly, neither he, nor I, nor the person who posts next on this thread are any more "knowledgeable" about God than anyone else" You are playing word games here. He is certainly more knowledgeable about the teachings of the bible than I am. If you want to believe that everyone has equal knowledge of this, it is fine with me. Instead of attacking Pilch, you could try to answer my questions too. Novel idea, eh? "Frankly, I'm sickened by people who claim to "know" that they're going to Heaven" There are many on the thread that share your dislike of Christians. You should start a thread with JF. "Sureness is a very dangerous thing when it comes to religious beliefs." I think "sureness" is pretty difficult to come by with religious beliefs, but am not in the least threatened by somone who claims to have it. I actually like to question them to see if it makes me more or less sure. People with your dislike of the folks with firm convictions seem to be a bit too insecure imo. When large groups of folks "sicken" someone, some (like me) would call that prejudice. Also weird that many who feel like you are against the war on terror, yet in that case we are fighting people so sure in their "beliefs" they will kill you or I. Seems like all sane people could join together for that fight. If someone tells me they are sure they are going to heaven, I would say cool, and good for you. If the tell me that I am going to hell, if I was feeling particularly honery, I might just say right back at ya. But very few people have said that to my face (unless I ask them). So they can believe what they may. Must be sort of a nice feeling to be sure that you did get to go to heaven. You guys may want to look into a class on self confidence. Shouldn't let others personal beliefs effect your happiness (imo). And feel free to answer any of my questions if you feel so inclined. After all, you know the same amount about them as Pilch does. Help me out, man.
