Defies Satire, Xenophobia on proud display:

Check out Vernon Robinson's Twilight Zone vs. Leave it to Beaver political ads. (He's known as the "black Jesse Helms", running for Congress in North Carolina).

Rod Serling must be spinning in his grave....

The final line in the Twilight Zone ad is in Spanish. After "Yo, Gringo!" -- a contemptuous Spanish term for Americans -- the rest translates to "This episode of 'The Twilight Zone' was paid for by Robinson for Congress."

Vernon Robinson is running for Congress in North Carolina's 5th district. Whoever wins the GOP primary wins the race, as it's a heavily Republican district.

Robinson made national headlines in January, when he placed a behemoth Ten Commandments monument outside Winston-Salem's city hall... the city council voted to have the offending monument removed.

Robinson has received money from Liz Dole and the backing of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, former Rep. Vin Weber, and one of the major supporters of his campaign is Jack Kemp. Apparently he has raised more money - from across the country - then his primary opponents combined.

The third ad (Jesse Helms is Back) linked at the site above mentions: "That's why President Bush hired Vernon to work for him in Washington."
