Well, not every company can be a winner. There are some sectors of tech that are hot, just maybe not all of them like in the 90's. I rememeber some really crappy tech companies whose stock price did well in the 90's. Don't you? Semis tend to be pretty darn volatile, though. So maybe the recent travails are a pause. I guess we'll see though. If their weakness continue, then maybe they are a harbinger of a big slowdown in tech.
