<<The US spent $200 billion so that they could loot $20 billion of Iraqi oil money in the form of no-bid contracts.>>

No you don't understand. The war is paid for by taxpayers for the benefit of oil companies. Makes as much sense as any other corrupt contract. Of course when they invaded Iraq it wasn't supposed to cost anywhere near this amount and the Iraqis were supposed to dance in the streets and throw flowers at the Americans, not bombs LOL.

You are also overlooking that America was tricked into invading Iraq by Iran. So oil is just a part of this fiasco and do not forget that while oil may represent 20 billion dollars, how much will it cost to re-build Iraq? Hmmmm much more than that!

"I guess we can safely conclude that our invasion of Iraq was NOT about oil, since for $200B ..."

I cannot conclude anything based on those results because I believe those in power are lock-step thinkers capable of gross miscalculation and enormous strategic blunders. Time will tell what price we will pay as a society. They may not have done it solely for the oil, but I recall neocons saying that the Iraqi oil would be used to rebuild Iraq, which clearly implies they thought they'd be getting a lot of cash for it already.

ChrisJP, if you cant understand the logic of this:<The US spent $200 billion so that they could loot $20 billion of Iraqi oil money in the form of no-bid contract>, you must know nothing about big government.
