Just so. It is inherently impossible to credit any explanation I may give of including torture, which I have not denied, in a more general term when referring to the scandal briefly and as a whole. It must be that I am trying to pull something, even though I am happy to acknowledge that some of what occurred is torture. It is a mathematical certainty that failure to agree with you and Hitchens on this point is a sign of intellectual and/or cultural failure. Why should I defend myself, when the case was closed from the start?
