I don't think Cheney will give up his position unless he figures out some way of possessing the body of his successor.

Word has it he has been messing around with pentagrams and the blood of unicorns but so far has been unsuccessful.

Remember if you ever see Cheney in person that making the sign of the cross and flinging holy water at him will drive him away.
