The lack of experience angle is bad for the GOP...

dailykos.com

All we have to do is ask how much experience Bush had in 2000. In fact, Edwards has more experience, because he was involved in national-level politics rather than state-level, and he was a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. Furthermore, Edwards is only our VP candidate, whereas Bush was running directly for the presidency. True, Bush might have more experience now, in theory, but we can do a lot to neutralize this argument just by pointing to 2000, where the Republicans endorsed a briefly-serving governor over an eight-year vice president of the United States. The only argument they have left is "but, but...9/11 changed everything....we MUST elect someone with experience now." But this takes them into areas where they don't want to go, such as being asked whether Bush's lack of experience hurt the "war on terror" both before and after 9/11.
