The rest of the story - the uranium in question was revealed by Iraq long, long ago to UNMOVIC, was on the public inventories, and was sealed up by IAEA at Tuwaitha.

Nothing illegal about it. Not hidden. Not harmful in its present state, either.

Fast forward to the present, after the war, which was about UNDECLARED WMD. Hundreds, actually I think it was thousands, of various radioactive items were looted from Tuwaitha, and have vanished to parts unknown.

Now the media is making an issue that the UN wasn't notified that the US was taking that uranium out...even if the Iraqi's had given the US permission to get out so terrorists didn't get it....

Take a look at google news, inserting URANIUM REMOVED FROM IRAQ
