Yes. Note that the liquification and the regassification processes have gotten considerably more efficient over the past decade.

Indeed. In fact, given that a lot of the potential natural gas reserves are offshore Africa (e.g. Equatorial Guniea) and Indonesia (e.g. Papa New Guniea), you could argue that those places are just as unstable as the OPEC countries.
