OT Lizzie, RE: "Pfizer: China Overturns Viagra Patent"

Oh geez.

I thought China wanted to control their population problem?

Watch AIDs skyrocket even more in China.

Even now, if a person visits a prostitute in China, after 8 visits they statistically will get AIDs. Statistically, it's one out of eight times. I don't even think hightech people know this, so watch AIDs increase in hightech too due to globalization, viagra, and bunnies.

Of course, shareholders will be stuck with the bill for their health care too.

RE: "Any American company that goes to china with their IP deserves to lose it imho. What does pfizer expect? We've played this game before with Japan in the 80s and 90s, forget it"

Pfizer had better not lose this patent. What on earth is going on with China? They are losing credibility around any attempt to protect IP.

Regards,
Amy J

Interesting comparison. Yes, we did play this game with Japan and look at the U.S. versus Japan now. We stayed ahead technologically and economically.

Now China is a little bit different. They are more predatory, play by fewer rules, and have people and natural resources that make the U.S. look absolutely poor.

In cases, like this, though, we have recourse. I think we ought to take China to the WTO for arbitration and if that fails, then we ought to impose sanctions. Most definitely, we should come up with lists of technological goods that we shouldn't export to China.

Hey Lizzie,

check out this article: yahoo.smartmoney.com

This guy also believes like I do that we are in a range because of this election. I bet starting Nov 2nd, we break out to the upside through Jan 2005. So a good time to invest will be October. I'm holding my extra cash until then.
