Andrew, Think you are wrong about bush resurgence in the fall. This thread has been waiting for that along with better iraq and so far nothing to show for it. Cheney's health will be the reason given, if done. He doesnt have to have a heart attack. Cheney is a political operative as his wife. They can make their case. Liberals and the press will never buy it. Conservatives will accept it and independents will love it. Bill said convention time, i said a bit earlier. I am now thinking right after dem convention to mute the bigger part of the bounce kerry will get post convention. Scenario. 1. Cheney's announce withdrawl for health reasons. 2. Bush regretfully accepts cheneys decision. 3. Some time passes as bush does search. 4. The press is full of stories and maybe all this occurs during the dem convention period dwarfing the boring lovefest there. 5. Bush choose McCain, Powell or Rudy. Energized republican work 7X24 printing up the new signs and bumper stickers (g) Give this above some thought and then tell me the ticket wouldnt do better. I think you might come to my conclusion that bush will get away with what we know to be a charade. I am from NYC. I once watched NYC regular party Mayor Bob Wagner run against his own admin in a primary when the regs booted him and he ran as a reformer. He actually ran against himself and won. Politics is way cool for the daring among us.
