Now Montenegro is voting in 2006 on whether it wants to split from Serbia. Montenegro was one of the republics, that has maintained an association with Yugoslavia. Huh? There is no Yugoslavia. Do you mean Serbia? If so, in 2006, Montenegro votes whether to split from Serbia or not.Its likely that Kosovo will splinter from Serbia as well. I would not be surprised if it rejoins Albania. After all, as late as 1911, Kosovo was still part of Albania. In 1912, it was forced to join Serbia. Things went back and forth, and were affected in major way by Turks occupying the area. It wasn't decided by the Turks.......it was Austria. What is your evidence that al Qa'ida is active in Kosovo? Do you have definitive proof? I know there were allegations but I did know they had been proven. Definite proof? Al Qaeda bombed US ambassies, naval destroyer, without us ever having a difinite proof, which now seems a consensus Among the countries or regions identified as having active cells of al-Qaida are Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Chechnya, Philippines, Egypt, Tunisia.msnbc.com Meanwhile, bin Laden's reach has now been documented among Albanians fighting the Serbs in Kosovo. Wherever Muslims are in trouble, it seems, Osama bin Laden will be there, slaying enemies, real or perceived. A modern nightmare, really--a big-screen villain, a freelancer with the resources of a state but without all the nasty obligations. Sort of a Ford Foundation for terrorists--or freedom fighters, depending on whom you ask. pbs.org ; Yes, I've heard all that......they claim there is an al Qa'ida training center in Kosovo but its never been found. Therefore, I don't trust all the accusations that have been made. Its like Saddam's links to al Qa'ida.....lots of rumors and accusations, little substance. Are you saying the instability in the region caused by the problems in Yugoslavia was having no impact on Greece and Italy, two of our European allies? It seems you downgraded "threatened by" to "having impact on". That't true........the splintering became a threat only in that it was generating lots of refugees. That's not a militant threat so I did a downgrade but it did threaten the stability of the region. Do you start wars based on an event "having impact on" our allies? First, there was a war already in place. We did not start one......you forget that was Iraq. And to answer your question.......yes, if your allies feel threatened, then you are obliged to help them out.Dotcom crash had an influence on our allies. Who do we declare war on? You're funny but not in a haha way. <g>
