You bring up a very good point.

How many "commissions" are doing official inquiries so that they can publish their "reports?" How many commissioners have actually been to Iraq and questioned scientists or the military personnel assigned to inspect sites or read the millions of documents found after the war?

I don't know anything about Lord Butler.....whether he's been serving on Intelligence committees for years or played an active role in Intelligence gathering throughout his career. I'm going to give Ish the benefit of the doubt and assume that what he wrote is true, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if the information his friend conveyed was eventually included in yet another WMD commission report.
