re: The judicial is one third of government, is it not? On a tangent, it seems the checks-n-balances system is getting a little too tilted toward the judicial branch these days, but that's just me.

I wouldn't agree. The legislative branch is trying to hamstring the judicial with "guidelines". The executive appears to be gaining power over the legislative. But these things ebb and flow, I suspect that in the end the balance is maintained.
