It is up to society to help address culture problems, don't you think? What is society for, if not to aid in cultural health. If a segment of our culture is sick, it is to the benefit of all to figure out how to fix it- and it probably can be fixed, if we care to fix it. I think Cosby has the right idea, but his ideas backed by government programs/incentives might do something. Lecturing people rarely does much at all.

What about K-10 and K12 statistics??

That is, one of the interesting aspects of the US education system is that the longer one attends it, the worse one does comparatively.

One reason might be that other educational systems do not pay that much attention to "skills" at K-4 as the first years in school are so important for other things than reading, writing,etc??

However, there is obviously nothing like having a little genius-kid although especially they have no problems learning the stuff (which suites them) later on.
