German June Passenger Car Registrations Rise 4.0% On Yr
FLENSBURG, Germany (Dow Jones)--In the month of June, 311,162 new passenger cars were registered, up 4% on the same month last year, the German Department of Motor Vehicles said Friday.

The agency said this was the best monthly development in June in the last four years. The introduction of new models for several car makers contributed to the good result for June, it said.

However, the department said there is still sluggish demand for new cars in the German market. In the first half of the year, new passenger car registrations reached 1.66 million, down 1.3% from the same period a year earlier.
